How it works:
- After an initial consult with Gannon Eco, our team will begin researching possible reprocessing and recycling options for the industrial waste.
- If the outcome of this research is successful, Gannon Eco can provide companies with a full range of logistical options for the transport of the waste from source.
- We can also provide a range of onsite storage options for companies if the waste volumes do not justify more frequent collection.
- Based in the midlands - we are ideally located to serve the entire country.
GLASS COLLECTION:
|
We collect the following glass types:
|
REPROCESSING:
- The glass is collected or delivered to the quarry unsegregated.
- The technology we use is a system created by ourselves. The plant can handle half the glass in the country with this system.
- We can crush up to 100 tonnes per hour from its raw material into a glass cullet & then into a sand.
- The Recycled Glass is put through a primary crusher and subsequently washed and screened to produce different grades of material, sizing from 12mm down to 1mm fines.
- During the glass making process it has already been heat treated. Sand has a number of useful qualities, including water resistance. The applications to which our glass can be put is limited only by the imagination.
- This crushed glass product is considered clean and entirely safe to handle. Crushing the glass removes sharp edges, so there is no more danger to workers handling it than there is with sand or gravel.
CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION PROCESSING:
- Construction waste is generated from building and demolition activities.
- The waste materials are often inert and non bio degradable, heavy, bulky and an overload burden on landfills. At Gannon Eco we recycle C&D waste such as concrete, bricks, tiles, asphalt, rubble and separated flat glass.
- The C&D waste is crushed, screened and cleaned, the end product is then used as replacement material for example as an aggregates in concrete production.
SPENT ABRASIVES:
Here at Gannon Eco we can provide reprocessing options and reuse for spent grinding bodies and
abrasives such as:
abrasives such as:
- garnet sand
- aluminium oxide
- glass beads
SPENT POLISHING MEDIA:
Gannon Eco have been providing abrasive sludge recycling services to the orthopaedic implant manufacture industry for a number of years. Ceramic and plastic sludge derived from spent mass finishing media is reprocessed into a dry powder form which is used as a pozzolanic additive in concrete products.
A by product of the hydration reaction between water and cement is calcium hydroxide (lime) which does not contribute to the concretes strength. This lime however reacts with the high silicon dioxide content of the ceramic powder in a pozzolanic reaction which ultimately increases the strength and durability of the concrete.

FOUNDRY CASTS & MOULDS:
Ceramic foundry casts and moulds are recycled at Gannon Eco using a two step process which entails crushing and screening producing a light coloured sand product.

This non-hazardous sand can be used for the following:
- Equestrian sand for horse gallops and rings
- Track sand for greyhound racing
- Decorative sand for gardens
- Raw material in reconstituted stone products
- Sand aggregate in concrete which improves thermal properties
