SPENT POLISHING MEDIA:
Gannon Eco have been providing abrasive sludge recycling services to the orthopaedic implant manufacture industry for a number of years. Ceramic and plastic sludge derived from spent mass finishing media is reprocessed into a dry powder form which is used as a pozzolanic additive in concrete products.

A by product of the hydration reaction between water and cement is calcium hydroxide (lime) which does not contribute to the concretes strength. This lime however reacts with the high silicon dioxide content of the ceramic powder in a pozzolanic reaction which ultimately increases the strength and durability of the concrete.
